  • Young Children’s Base - Holiday entitlement is 1 week (of usual attendance) free in a twelve-month period starting in September each year (pro-rata for mid academic year start dates).  Full fees are payable for any sessions not attended, including additional holidays or sickness. 
  • Pre-school & FS1 Base Additional Services – There are no holiday allowances as these are term-time only services.  Full fees are payable for any sessions not attended (e.g. holidays or sickness).

Please advise us if your child will not be attending their session, via telephone or email.  Planned Absence forms are available in reception or on this website. 

The Centre will be closed on all Bank Holidays and for an additional 5 INSET (In Service Training) days per year.  Please see the separate calendar for specific dates.

All fees are payable in advance and paid using our online payment system.  One month’s written notice, with full payment, is required to vacate a place.  All charges are subject to review and service users will be notified of any changes. 

Meals are not included in funded places.  

Non-payment and Arrears:

If you have difficulties with payments, please contact the Centre as soon as possible.   Reminders are sent to ensure payments are kept up to date.  If fees remain unpaid then places will be withdrawn.  All fees must be up to date before children increase sessions or families access any other chargeable services in the Centre.

Closures/temporary change of session times:

If the service/sessions remain available then fees are still payable, whether attended or not.  Closures (including early closures and delayed opening) caused by adverse weather conditions or other incidents out of our control, will only be refunded after the first full day. In the event of sessions change of hours, fees may be reduced proportionally, depending on the circumstances.

Young Children’s Base

Foundation Stage 1 (FS1 Base)

  • Parents are asked to make a voluntary contribution towards the cost of refreshments each week.  This includes daily healthy snacks as well as food tasting linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum such as cultural celebrations, fire pit activities etc
  • Voluntary contributions for meals taken during funded sessions are £1 for breakfast, £2 for lunch and £2 for tea or packed meals can be provided from home.

Early Education Funding

  • Funding is calculated using the Local Authority formula
  • All Early Education Funding is term time only (38 weeks).  In the Young Children’s Base, funding is stretched to cover the full year, including school holiday weeks.  Additional fees are payable for the non-funded sessions
  • Voluntary contributions for meals taken during funded sessions are £1 for breakfast, £2 for lunch and £2 for tea or packed meals can be provided from home.

Eligibility for Funding

  • All 3 year old children are entitled to 15 free hours per week (starting the term after their 3rd birthday) of universal funding, term time only (38 weeks)
  • From September 2025, all eligible working parents of children aged from 9 months are entitled to up to 30 hours of extended funding, term time only (38 weeks).  Proof of eligibility is required
  • Families who receive additional support may be eligible for 15 hours per week for their child (starting the term after their 2nd birthday) term time only (38 weeks).  Proof of eligibility is required.
