World Nursery Rhyme Week 13th to 17th November 2017

Last year, over 500,000 children under the age of 7 took part from 39 countries and we are delighted to be taking part this year, the children will focus on a different nursery rhyme each day.

Rhyme A Day Challenge

Our ‘Rhyme A Day’ challenge will focus on each rhyme in the following order:

• Monday 13th November: ‘Bobby Shafto’

• Tuesday 14th November: ‘Lavenders Blue’

• Wednesday 15th November: ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’

• Thursday 16th November: ‘Wind the Bobbin Up’

• Friday 17th November: ‘Old King Cole’

Remembrance Service

Staff and Children were joined today by members of the Local Parish Council and the Community to our annual remembrance service.  The children watched the laying of the wreaths, listened to the last post being played and observed the 2 minutes silence.

Growing and Eating our Own Produce

This year we have grown onions, tomatoes, beetroot, radish, runner beans, potatoes and leeks.  Donna our housekeeper has made leek and potato soup for the children and a homemade tomato soup using our produce.  We have also made apple crumble with our own apples and tomato chutney with our onions and tomatoes.  We are selling our chutney in reception at £2 a jar if anyone would like to buy one. UPDATE - SOLD OUT!

Bluebell Wood

We are collecting used stamps on behalf of Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, so would be very grateful if you can start saving them and post them into the box in our reception.  Thank you.

Carole's family would like to thank all who helped them raise £1075 when they ran the Dronfield 10k on Sunday 19th March.  This money will go towards the British Heart Foundation's research into S.C.A.D. Please click on the link to read Matthew's story and to donate if you still wish.

Remembering Carole

The defibrillator was officially opened on 19th May 2017.  It was well attended by lots of parents, staff and Carole's close family members and was a fitting tribute to Carole and her dedication to the Centre.  100 balloons were released in the garden followed by coffee and cakes in the Centre.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this happen and all your generous contributions.
